Thanks to the hard work of Cathy Brendel and all the Volunteers!!

Thanks to the hard work of Cathy Brendel (working with the City of Oceanside) and all the Volunteers (without there help this would not have been possible) we now have 8 beautiful dedicated courts at Melba Bishop.
It only took us a little over two months to get the OK and paint the remaining four courts.  Now Melba Bishop has the first solely dedicated courts in North County San Diego, offering daytime and night play.

HEY PICKLERS - CHECK OUT OUR BEAUTIFULLY PAINTED COURTS AT MELBA BISHOP!!

We had a great crew Saturday & Sunday, headed by Ken Follis, whose SUV is shown "loaded" with over 50 gallons of paint and supplies.  Those who showed up to paint & tape were Ken, Audrey Phillips, Larry Stapleton, Don Ream, Tom Reed, Sheila and Pat Carroll, Trudie Stapleton, Cathy Brendel, Pete Sidlauskas, Terry Kueffer, John Maggos, Judith and Harris Kehrmann, Doug Boggs, and Gail Penacho.

The courts will be open for play, and all other open play scheduled days.  Thanks to those who did the work-- and a GREAT BIG THANKS to those who have contributed your "supporter" fee and made this project possible.  For those of you who have not yet had the opportunity to become a Melba Bishop Supporter,  the fee is $15 for the remainder of this year, and allows you to play at Melba Bishop for $2 instead of $3 per day.

I will be sending out more information about the USAPA sanctioned "Thankspickling Skills Tournament" to be held at Melba Bishop on Friday thru Sunday after Thanksgiving (Nov. 26-28).  Entries are arriving every day; and it promises to be a great opportunity to take your game to the next level, and meet lots of out-of-town picklers.
